For this post, treat the blog like you do the back wall of my classroom:
What's your favorite line, quote, or event from semester one? How does it reflect the goals and expectations of the class?
For replies, you can agree, disagree or challenge.
Remember, BEST OF essays will be due the last A day of the quarter.

OMG
Mr. Holt's frequently repeating OMG after someone says "oh my god" or "oh my gosh" represents APE because he is calling students on their colloqualisms, choice in diction, and choice in persona. It also reinforces the difference between satire and sarcasm. Do you know which OMG is an example of?
When Mr. Holt uses "OMG!" it is satire, because he is making fun of his students.
I'll have to look at the wall again before I post my favorite.
And I don't have to do the BEST OF essay do I?

"Hott Mess" I believe is a satire because we are making fun of a bad situation.
My favorite things on the board are my fight about me being a racist (because I'm not) and of Holt's Holty water and what not.
