Let's start easy: why are you taking this course? What do you hope to get out of it? What impressions from the first day bolstered your confidence? Which scared you?

I am taking this class because my mom said that I had to take at least one AP class and I didn't want to take any of the other ones, so this one was most appealing.
I hope to pass and I hope that this might talk me into college.
The first day wasn't too exciting but the second day was awesome. Mr. Holt seems like a pretty cool teacher and that's good. Teachers that are too uptight are lame. I like the "vibe" (for lack of a better word) of the class.
Nothing really scared me except I wasn't too happy about the multiple textbooks. I hate book work. It's like busywork when someone gives me that.

I am taking this course because I wanted to take multiple AP courses. I hope that I pass the AP exam and the end of the year. The first thing that bolstered my confidence is that Mr. Holt is nothing like Mr. Sellers. Sellers is a great person but I can't stand him as a teacher. Mr. Holt gives examples that relate to us as teenagers/students. I don't think that anything scared me in the class.

I am taking this class because english is my favorite subject and because I want to major in something english related. One thing that really bolstered my confidence was that Mr. Holt is really down to earth so there isn't a lot of tension in the class.
